I'm looking to run triple monitors off an eGPu for my MacBook Pro 15" Mid-2015 (with M370X dGPU). I had stumbled upon this build thread which suggested that this configuration with multiple monitors would not work, however this is a bit outdated, and the OP is yet to respond to recent questions. If anyone knows of any success with TB2 and 2*4K displays, I'd be glad to head about it. With 2 4K displays, I have a feeling that there would not be enough bandwidth over TB2 to actually run both of those (at 60hz that is, which is much preferable for me over 30hz). I know my 760 cannot achieve that, so if the RX580 can do that, that'll be my choice. What I'm wondering is if it's possible for those 3 monitors to function with the eGPU on 10.14 on that MacBook Pro without issues.Īs a follow up, I'm also interested in replacing my current displays with 2 4K displays in the future.
